THE BULGARIAN VOICES ANGELITE

Den universelle fascination ved korets musik går tilbage til dets sensationelle første succes i 1987. Siden da har koret givet koncerter verden over og udgivet 13 indspilninger. Efter deres 30-års jubilæum i 2017 og en begrænset jubilæumsboks (udsolgt) præsenterer koret med "Heritage" under den nye dirigent Katja Borulova en blanding af allerede udgivne samt nye værker.

The Bulgarian Voices Angelite har været ensemblets navn siden 1995. De begyndte samarbejdet med JARO i 1987 under et fransk navn og har siden haft succes verden over. Det enestående kvindekor Angelite tilbyder et bemærkelsesværdigt musikprogram, hvor fortidens folklore beriger og tilfører sin følelsesmæssige energi til nutidens musik. På koncertturnéer verden over har sangerne begejstret utallige tilhørere med deres overraskende, fortryllende og utroligt præcise sang, en sang der rører sjælen. De har gennem samarbejder med musikere fra alle kulturer vist, at deres musikalske tilgang fører til et nærmest mystisk udtryk. De er blevet inviteret til optrædener ved Nobels fredspris i Oslo og på Den Røde Plads i Moskva i anledning af Moskvas 850 års jubilæum.

I programmets rige farvepalette skiller to sange sig særligt ud i deres stil. Den bemærkelsesværdige bulgarske komponist Ivan Spassov anvender i sine kompositioner aleatoriske teknikker med overlappende polyfone mønstre. Kreativt udviklet fra rødderne i den traditionelle sang Leilinko, kuzum pilianze opstår et musikalsk værk med fri, uregelmæssig harmoni og blød klang. Dette er en af Ivan Spassovs sidste kompositioner, skrevet mod slutningen af hans liv specifikt til The Bulgarian Voices Angelite. Musikken afspejler komponistens filosofi om universet og evigheden.

Efter en toårig coronapause genoptog koret aktiviteterne i maj 2022 med en række koncerter i Tyskland. I efteråret 2022 indspillede de et helt nyt program med middelalderlig østligt ortodoks musik fra det 13 og 14 århundrede. I 2025 havde koret stor succes med koncerter i Europa, herunder tre udsolgte aftener i København. I foråret 2026 udgav koret deres første vinyl i mange år med de bedste bulgarske traditionelle og ortodokse sange. Til efteråret 2026 planlægger de en europæisk turné med omkring 20 koncerter i otte lande.

Deres digitale tilstedeværelse er steget markant det seneste år med omkring 80 procent til cirka 80.000 månedlige lyttere på Spotify. Deres musik anvendes desuden i en række film.

The universal fascination in the choir's music goes back to its sensational first success in 1987. Since then, the choir has given concerts worldwide and has released 13 recordings. After their 30th anniversary in 2017 and a limited-edition jubilee box (sold out), the choir presents with "Heritage" under the new conductor Katja Borulova a mixture of already-published as well as new pieces. 

The Bulgarian Voices - Angelite is the ensemble name since 1995. They started to work with JARO in 1987 under a French name and were successful around the world since that time. The outstanding women's choir - Angelite offers a remarkable music program, in which the folklore of the ancient times enriches and renders its emotional energy to the music of today. On concert tours the world over, the singers have roused the enthusiasm of countless listeners with their surprising, enchanting and incredibly precise song - song which touches the soul. They showed in collaborations with musicians from all cultures that their mu- sical approach led them to a mysterious marvel. Performances at the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo or on the Red Square of Moscow on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the City of Moscow was requested.

Within the wealth of colors in the program, two songs stand out for their styles - The remarkable Bulgarian composer Ivan Spassov uses in his composition?s aleatory technique with overlapped polyphonic patterns. Creatively developed, from the roots of the traditional song "Leilinko, kuzum pilianze" springs a creatively developed musical work with free, irregular harmony and soft sonority. This is one of the last songs of Ivan Spassov, written at the end of his path of life, specifically for The Bulgarian Voices - Angelite. The music reveals the philosophy of the author relating to the universe and eternity.

After a 2 years Corona break the choir started with a restart May 2022 with some chows in Germany. Fall 2022 they recorded a brand-new program with "Medieval Eastern Orthodox Music from 13 & 14 century". 2025 the choir made some real successful shows in Europe, among them 3 days sold out shows in Copenhagen. Spring 2026 the choir released first vinyl after long years with the very best Bulgarian trad and orthodox songs. For fall 2026 they plan a European tour with around 20 shows in 8 countries.
